The Marble Gallery
The Marble Gallery is one of the most unique gift shops on the entire Western Slope. They are continually adding new art creations and local products. Customers enjoy viewing large sculptures in progress, browsing the quality books in the Gypsy Wagon Used Bookstore, and chatting with the friendly people at the Marble Gallery. The owners, Christy and Mario Villalobos are working artists and longtime Marble locals.
Mario is a self taught sculptor. He makes Marble wine bottle chillers, clocks, glow lamps, and abstract sculptures. Christy paints wildflowers on scrap marble pieces. The Gallery features their work, RAKU crosses, wall clocks, and ornaments, Santa Claus wood carvings, and yoga marble sculptures. Mario and Christy have recently added a new line of handmade sweaters, shawls and hats. Just beautiful!
The Marble Gallery also features the work of many other local artists, such as:
Rex and Vicky Branson - Award winning wood carvers and master marble sculptors. Don't miss the life-sized Big Horn Rams, new bears, horses, eagles, fish, and other animals of all sizes, the sacred Indian 'White Buffalo, "Greed" (a tribute to the financial crisis,) and "Listen Up" through which Mother Earth speaks! They also carve marble headstones of any shape or size.
Roger Neal - The author of books on Crystal history and lore, and 'Creepy Crystal Tales,' who collects his stories from the famous ghost town of Crystal where he lives.
